La Chocolatera
It is named for the way that the waves burst on the rocks, it makes the sea lift the sand from the bottom giving it a darker hue forming a lot of mist and foam, giving the impression of beinga great bowl of chocolate. This is an incredible tourist place where you can observe the colony of sea lions mostly males, who live and rest there (on the beach ofMar Bravo), next to surfers, who frequently visit the place. It is called marbravo because its waves are strong and high, ideal for the surfingchampionships that are held, in addition in the months of June to September youcan observe the humpback whales.
San Lorenzo Beach
On the boardwalk of Salinas is the Playa de San Lorenzo, where we find larger waves, excellent for a quiet practice of surfing, due to the accumulation of rocks, “the little pools” are formed, which are preferred by the little ones when swimming.
Chipipe Beach
Chipipe is a tourist neighborhood close to salt flats, whose waters are relatively calm, for the season you will find people from all over Ecuador, as well as merchants who travel along the seashore offering their products.
Mar Bravo Beach

Known for its beautiful beaches, landscapes and its hot and humid climate. Esmeraldas is synonymous with music and joy. It has its own musical instruments such as the famous marimba.
